Kimberly Watson

SPOTLIGHT DANCE TEACHER

Kimberly brings a rich and diverse background in dance to the Double Play Community Center, with over two decades of international training and professional experience. Her journey began at just six years old with the prestigious Hong Kong Ballet, and since then, she has trained across the globe – from New York City to Beijing, El Salvador to Ottawa – studying with renowned institutions such as the Morgan Scott Ballet, the Martha Graham School of Contemporary Dance, and the Beijing Dance Academy.

In 2009, Kimberly continued her education at the Dramatic Truth School of the Arts in Kansas City, where she immersed herself in a wide array of disciplines including ballet, pointe, pas de deux, Graham and Horton-based modern, jazz, hip-hop, and contemporary. She performed with the Dramatic Truth Trainee Company, apprenticed with Dramatic Truth Ballet Theatre, and later became a full company member for six years – briefly serving as Assistant Company Director while expecting her first child.

Kimberly has taught at numerous summer intensives and academies, eventually becoming Head of the Modern Department at Dramatic Truth, where she trained faculty to uphold the highest standards in Graham technique. In 2014, she returned to the Martha Graham School for an intensive program and was accepted into their elite Trainee Program.

A passionate artist and educator, Kimberly views dance not only as an art form but also as an expression of worship. In 2019, she and her family relocated to Upstate New York, where she now homeschools her four children and shares her deep love of dance with the Lewis County community.

Kimberly is honored to bring her global perspective, technical expertise, and heart for movement to the students of Double Play.
